Valentino Rossi once again shows the world why he is the best…although Jorge Lorenzo is excellent as well. One of the best MotoGP I’ve ever seen if not the best. Not that I have watched too many MotoGP, lol.
Lorenzo qualified first in his home ground with Rossi in second and followed by Stoner. In the first few laps, the first 3 remained the same until Rossi pulled the move and overtook Lorenzo. Some laps later Lorenzo caught up with Rossi’s slipstream and slotted in front of Rossi in the first corner. Up until this stage, both of them pretty much stayed half a second between each other throughout the race. Can you imagine that? They went all out.
Both Yamaha M1 are equally good, so as the riders. Since Lorenzo was racing in front of his fellow countrymen, he rode it at 100% and no chance for him to make any mistake.
The best part came in the last few laps. I think it was the last or second last lap Rossi overtook Lorenzo then a moment later Lorenzo regained the pole. I thought it was over when they were already approaching the last corner in the last lap of the race. Then came the surprise. Rossi slided into the inner side of the right handed corner and sticked along the rumble strips to defend from letting Lorenzo pass him. His rear wheel was nearly nudged by Lorenzo’s bike.
Out of the corner and crossed the line. His pit crew was jumping like mad after he made his move. Definitely nerve breaking. In the end the time separates the winner and the second place was a mere 0.095second. Bloody hell. This is the reason I love watching MotoGP so much. Excitement along with surprise. Stoner finished 3rd in the race. Poor Stoner was not feeling too well today. All of them are now 106 points in the championship which makes it even more exciting for the following races.
